Overview
This standard shall be used in conjunction with DIN EN 60317-0-7 and extends the DIN EN 60317 series to include a new product class. The fully insulated wires (FIW) specified here enable the fully automated manufacture of winding materials with basic insulation. Their essential electrical characteristics correspond with the so-called TEX-E wires. While corresponding concrete specifications for round copper wires are included in this standard, the general requirements for this product class are specified in DIN EN 60317-0-7. The responsible committee is DKE/K 413 "Wickeldrähte" ("Winding wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
Please get in touch with the relevant contact person at DIN if you have problems understanding the content of the standard or need advice on how to apply it.
