This standard deals with test methods for spools made from thermoplastic materials for the provision of winding wires. The purpose is to establish compliance of the mechanical properties with the specifications which are defined in the other standards of the series. With these specifications, reliability and serviceability of returnable spools for winding wires in electrical motor and transformer production is ensured. The responsible committee is K 414 "Hilfsmittel für Fertigung und Transport von Kabeln, Leitungen und Drähten" ("Auxiliary means for the manufacture and transport of cables and wires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60264-4-1:1995-11 .
