This this standard gives the equations by which the effective core parameters can be calculated. On the one hand, it is necessary to have a sufficient number of decimal places when the numerical values are rounded in the course of the calculations. On the other hand, some of the equations have been changed to better describe the actual shape. There are equations for different core types, such as toroidal cores, U-core pairs (rectangular and round), E- and ETD/EER-, shell-, rectangular-, EP- and PM core pairs. Furthermore, the new core types EL, ER, PQ, EFD and E-Planar have been incorporated in this edition. The corrigendum concerns the figure in 3.4 for E core pairs with rectangular section. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic construction elements and their components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
