DIN EN 60143-1:2016-04

This standard applies both to capacitor units and capacitor banks intended to be used connected in series with an a.c. transmission or distribution line or circuit forming part of an a.c. power system having a frequency of 15 Hz to 60 Hz. The main changes compared to the previous edition are that the endurance test has been replaced by an aging test, because the periodic dielectric test was already performed during the cold operating test. A correction for long lines and elevations has been included in the guide. In addition, the tables for insulation levels have been revised and the references to other standards have been updated. The responsible committee is DKE/K 341 "Leistungskondensatoren" ("Power capacitors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
