Overview
This European Corrigendum officially replaces standard DIN EN 50394-1 (VDE 0170-10-2):2004-09 for intrinsically safe electric systems valid for mining purposes. This purely European Standard has already been factually replaced by the 2011 edition of International Standard IEC 60079-25 which has been adopted as DIN EN 60079-25 (VDE 0170-10-1) on the national level. The responsible Committee is K 241 "Schlagwetter- und explosionsgeschützte elektrische Betriebsmittel" ("Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
Please get in touch with the relevant contact person at DIN if you have problems understanding the content of the standard or need advice on how to apply it.
