Part -2-39 of the IEC 60068 series of standards provides a description of test methods and guidance for testing of equipment or components under combined temperature or temperature and humidity with low air pressure tests. These combinations can have certain effects on, for example, individual components and seals in devices. An impairment of the function or significant reduction of the performance should of course be avoided as far as possible by appropriate pre-tests and evaluation of the devices or components. The procedures of combined tests presented here allow both electrical and mechanical or other physical changes to be detected. Changes from the previous edition include the introduction of combined tests and also an update of the preferred levels of severity in the IEC 60068 series of standards. Within the scope of this revised edition, DIN EN 60068-2-39, DIN EN 60068-2-40, DIN EN 60068-2-41 and DIN EN 60068-3-2 are merged in terms of content and also formally, subsequently, withdrawn. The responsible committee is DKE/K 131 "Umgebungsbedingungen, Klassifizierung und Prüfungen" ("Environmental conditions, classification and methods of test") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60068-2-39:2000-02 .
