This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55024:2010 + A1:2015, which takes over International Standard CISPR 24:2010. It specifies limits and test methods for the electromagnetic immunity of information technology equipment (ITE) to conducted and radiated continuous and transient electromagnetic disturbances, including static electricity discharges, and thus also serves to implement the corresponding essential requirement of the European EMC Directive 2004/108/EU and the R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EU. Particular test conditions and performance criteria for certain types of equipment such as telecommunications terminal equipment, DSL equipment, data processing equipment, local area networks, printers, plotters, copiers, ATMs and electronic cash registers are specified in the normative annexes. Compared to the previous edition, the following changes have been made: - (re-)introduction of the 4% step size for testing with conducted RF continuous disturbance quantities, - in Annex A.2. addition of specifications for the operation of telecommunications terminal equipment during testing of lines with conducted RF continuous disturbance quantities (concerning the treatment of certain functions such as muting, echo and noise suppression during operation of the communications path in the respective transmitting or receiving direction), - addition of the procedure for measuring demodulation along digital lines to take into account terminal equipment connected to digital telecommunications lines (new Subclause A.2.6), - addition of values for cable attenuation for additional DSL systems in Table H.2. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 767.17 "EMV von Multimediageräten und -einrichtungen" ("EMC of multimedia equipment ") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
