Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50529-2:2010. It specifies requirements for conducted and radiated disturbance emissions emanating from conducted transmission networks using coaxial cables including their in-house extensions under normal operating conditions. These networks include coaxial cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services (broad band cable networks). Hereby the emission limits do not apply to the wanted emissions form embedded radio links within the networks. Furthermore this standard specifies requirements for the immunity of the afore-mentioned networks. It covers the frequency range from 9 kHz to 400 GHz. The specifications are given in the form of references to relevant Harmonized European EMC standards and apply in combination with good engineering practice during the installation and operation of the networks. Information on good engineering practice is covered by Annex A. Regarding the respective provisions, differentiation is made between general provisions, provisions for coaxial cables and coaxial cable assemblies and provisions for broadband cable networks. In connection with this standard, the "Verordnung zum Schutz von öffentlichen Telekommunikationsnetzen und Sende- und Empfangsfunkanlagen, die in definierten Frequenzbereichen zu Sicherheitszwecken betrieben werden" (SchuTSEV) which is applicable in the Federal Republic of Germany at the time of publication of this standard and the reference of which was published on 18 May 2009 in the Bundesgesetzblatt (BGBl) (Federal Law Gazette), page 1060, shall be observed. The responsible Committee is K 735 "Kabelnetze und Antennen für Fernsehsignale, Tonsignale und interaktive Dienste" ("Cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE. Subcommittee UK 767.15 "EMV von Ton- und Fernseh-Rundfunkempfängern" ("EMC of sound and television broadcast receivers") and Subcommittee UK 767.17 "EMV von Einrichtungen der Informationsverarbeitungs- und Telekommunikationstechnik" ("EMV of information technology equipment and telecommunication technology") have been involved in the national treatment of this standard project.
