This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50529-1:2010. It contains requirements for conducted and radiated disturbance emissions emanating from traditional wire-line telecommunication networks including their in-house extensions under normal operating conditions. These networks include traditional telecommunication networks, but also signalling and telecommunication networks and wire-line portions of radio networks. For this purpose, the emission limits do not apply to the wanted emissions from embedded radio links within the networks. Furthermore this standard specifies requirements for the immunity of the afore-mentioned networks. It covers the frequency range from 9 kHz to 400 GHz. The specifications are given in the form of references to relevant Harmonized European EMC standards which are provided in a corresponding table in the standard and apply in combination with good engineering practice during the installation and operation of the networks. Information on good engineering practice is covered by Annex A. In connection with this standard, the "Verordnung zum Schutz von öffentlichen Telekommunikationsnetzen und Sende- und Empfangsfunkanlagen, die in definierten Frequenzbereichen zu Sicherheitszwecken betrieben werden" (SchuTSEV) which is applicable in the Federal Republic of Germany at the time of publication of this standard and the reference of which was published on 18 May 2009 in the Bundesgesetzblatt (BGBl) (Federal Law Gazette), page 1060, shall be observed. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 767.17 "EMV von Einrichtungen der Informationsverarbeitungs- und Telekommunikationstechnik" ("EMV of information technology equipment and telecommunication technology") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
