Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50519:2010. The purpose of this standard is to specify a method for the assessment of the conformity of industrial induction heating equipment with the requirements of the European Workers Directive 2004/40/EC with regard to the safety of persons in electromagnetic fields. A list of typical uses of such equipment is given in the Scope and in Annex A. The latter also states each unfavourable operating condition for different applications. The frequency range up to 30 MHz is covered by the standard. It specifies the required definitions, divides the heating equipment in three groups and describes the assessment method. The required field data can be determined by measurement, calculation or simulation. The relevant method is described in this standard via reference to EN 50413:2008. Furthermore, requirements concerning the assessment report are given. In the annex, examples of measurements of magnetic fields are given, amongst other information. The responsible Committee is K 764 "Sicherheit in elektromagnetischen Feldern" ("Safety in electromagnetic fields") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
