DIN EN 505:2013-06

This European Standard specifies requirements for roofing products used for assembly into coverings for pitched roofs, made from metallic coated steel sheet with or without additional organic coating(s). This European Standard establishes general characteristics, definitions and labelling for the products, together with requirements for the materials from which the products can be manufactured. It is intended to be used either by manufacturers to ensure that their products comply with the requirements or by purchasers to verify that the products comply before they are despatched from the factory. It specifies the requirements for products which enable them to meet all normal service conditions. Roofing products can be prefabricated or semiformed products as well as strip, coil and sheet for on-site-formed applications (for example standing-seam and clip fixroofs). The European Standard applies to all discontinuously laid and fully supported roofing products made of steel sheets. No requirements for fixing, supporting construction, design of roof system and execution of connections and accessories are included. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 505:1999-12: a) clip fix systems have been additionally included in the scope; b) normative references (clause 2) and terms and definitions (clause 3) have been updated; c) Annex B has been changed from informative to normative and the content has been harmonized with DIN EN 508-1:2009-07, Annex B or DIN EN 14783:2006-12, Annex A; d) the standard has been editorially revised.
