DIN EN 50464-1:2012-06

This standard is a part of the EN 50464 series, consisting of the following parts under the general title "Three-phase oil-immersed distribution transformers 50 Hz, from 50 kVA to 2500 kVA with highest voltage for equipment not exceeding 36 kV": Part 1, General requirements (this standard) Part 2-1, Distribution transformers with cable boxes on the high-voltage and/or low-voltage side - General requirements Part 2-2, Distribution transformers with cable boxes on the high-voltage and/or low-voltage side - Cable boxes type 1 for use on distribution transformers meeting the requirements of EN 50464-2-1, Part 2-3, Distribution transformers with cable boxes on the high-voltage and/or low-voltage side - Cable boxes type 2 for use on distribution transformers meeting the requirements of EN 50464-2-1 Part 3, Determination of the power rating of a transformer loaded with non-sinusoidal currents Part 4, Requirements and tests concerning pressurised corrugated tanks. The general requirements in this Part 1 apply for transformers from 50 kVA to 2 500 kVA intended for operation in three-phase distribution networks. They are operated in indoor or outdoor continuous service at 50 Hz, are immersed in mineral oil, possess two windings and are naturally cooled. The windings consist of a primary (high-voltage) winding with a highest voltage for equipment from 3,6 kV to 36 kV as well as a secondary (low-voltage) winding with a highest voltage for equipment not exceeding 1,1 kV. The standard may be applied, either as a whole or in part, to transformers immersed in a synthetic insulating liquid. If it is used for transformers having windings with more than one rated voltage, the rated power for each rated voltage shall be specified by the purchaser. Requirements related to the design and electrical characteristics of three phases distribution transformers immersed in mineral oil are specified with this standard. The revision of this standard has been decided on a European level due to the fact that the responsible European standardization committee consented to the suggestion by the Spanish committee to delete the columns with the highest losses and the associated sound power levels for the distribution transformers for 24 kV and for 36 kV respectively in the tables on load and no-load losses. The modifications have been accepted by the Community of European member states and published as Amendment A1:2012 to the European Standard EN 50464-1:2007. The responsible German committee has incorporated the German version of this amendment in the previous document and has published it as the consolidated new standard DIN EN 50464-1. The responsible committee is UK 321.2 "Transformatoren, Leistungen und Abmessungen" ("Transformers, outputs and dimensions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) of DIN and VDE.
