DIN EN 50416:2016-09

This standard contains the text of Amendment 1:2015-09 to EN 50416:2005. The submitted amendments (marked in the left margin of the standard with a vertical line and A1) are necessary to adapt EN 50416:2005 to the essential requirements of the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This standard deals with the safety of electrically operated conveyor dishwashing machines for washing plates, dishes, glassware, cutlery and similar articles (for example, trays, food containers), with or without means for water heating or forced hot air drying. These machines are not intended for household use, their rated voltage not being more than 250 V for single-phase machines connected between one phase and neutral and 480 V for other machines. The spraying pressure shall not exceed 1 MPa. These machines are intended to be connected to hot and/or cold water supplies. Machines using steam or hot water for heating purposes are also within the scope of this standard. Examples of such machines include belt conveyor dishwashers and basket conveyor machines. These machines are used in restaurants, canteens, hospitals, and in commercial establishments such as bakeries, butcher stores, and so on. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 511.1 "Wäschepflegegeräte und Geschirrspüler" ("Laundry machines and dishwashers") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
