Overview

DIN EN 50395 contains electrical test methods used for the testing of harmonized low voltage energy cables. These electrical test methods include all methods which were previously contained in the standards of the DIN VDE 0281 (VDE 0281) and DIN VDE 0282 (VDE 0282) series. Annex B contains a comparison between the original location of each test method and its location in the new European Standard. Supplement DIN EN 50395/A1 (VDE 0481-395/A1) contains modifications to DIN EN 50395 (VDE 0481-395):2006-07 during the spark test and during calculation of the minimum value for insulation resistance. The responsible committee is UK 411.2 "Isolierte Starkstromleitungen" ("Insulated cables, wires and flexible cords for power installation") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
