This European Standard applies to electric dishwashers for household use that are supplied with hot and/or cold water. The object is to state and define the principal performance characteristics of electric dishwashers for household use and to describe the standard methods of measuring these characteristics. This standard is concerned neither with safety nor with performance requirements. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 50242/DIN EN 60436:2008-09: - The "new" Miele reference dishwaser (Model G 1222 SC Reference) and the "new" Bosch microwave (HMT742C) have been added to the previous devices. - Revised specification of the small serving bowl. - the terms "small serving bowl" and "fruit bowl" have been changed to "dessert bowl". - New cutlery. It is not permitted to mix the two different cutlery series, Berlin and Signum/Gastro, due to the fact that only the Signum/Gastro cutlery is permissible with the new version of this standard. - Inclusion of the relevant operating modes with low energy consumption or washing machines of the relevant operating made as a new Annex O, which refers to EN 50564 regarding the requirements, such as measuring instruments or ambient conditions for measuring the performance at a low level of energy consumption. - A detailed description for calibrating and working with the microwaves newly introduced with IEC 60436:2004/A1:2009. The responsible committee is UK 513.5 "Geschirrspülmaschinen" ("Dishwashers") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
