This European Standard defines the terms used in the field of intrusion detection devices using radio frequency links and the requirements for the devices themselves. Intentional replacement of alarms or components generally attempts to reduce the security of the system. Unintentional message replacement generally causes false alarms or sabotage alarms and is a nuisance. This European Standard applies to intrusion alarm equipment using radio frequency (RF) links and located on protected premises. It does not cover long-range radio transmissions. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 50131-5-3:2009-06; VDE 0830-2-5-3:2009-06 .
