Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50121-3-2:2015. This standard specifies limits and measuring methods for the emission and immunity of electrical and electronic apparatus that are foreseen to be installed in rolling stock. The requirements apply together with DIN EN 50121-1 (VDE 0115-121-1) and are specified for the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz. The immunity tests cover the discharge of static electricity, irradiating high-frequency electromagnetic fields including those of digital radio telephones or cell phones, fast transient electrical disturbances (pulse groups, burst), surge voltages and conducted disturbances induced by high-frequency fields. The description of the test procedures shall be found in the basic standards specified at the relevant place. The evaluation criteria for immunity testing are defined by reference to DIN EN 50121-1 (VDE 0115-121-1). Typical examples for the apparatus that are covered in this draft are listed in Annex A and Annex B describes a measurement setup for conducted disturbances in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 30 MHz generated by power converters. Compared to the previous standard, the scope has been clarified and the previously undated references have been changed to dated references. Furthermore, new definitions of connections have been included and these have been clarified in Tables 1 to 6. In addition, the requirements for emission have been extended to the frequency range 1 GHz to 6 GHz and the requirements for immunity to the frequency range 5,1 GHz to 6 GHz. Finally, Annex B has been revised. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 767.12 "Funkstörungen durch Hochspannungsfreileitungen und -anlagen und EMV von Bahnen" ("Radio interference by high voltage overhead lines and installations and EMC of railways") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
