Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50121-3-1:2015. It specifies limits and measurement methods for spurious emission and immunity for all types of railway vehicles (traction vehicles and trains as well as hauled stock). The requirements are valid for the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz. The scope ends at the interface of the railway vehicle with its energy inputs and outputs. Intentional communication signals are excluded. No immunity tests apply to the complete vehicle provided that the rolling stock is immune against an appropriate disturbance level and that the assembly of the apparatus into a complete vehicle is implemented according to an EMC plan. For the spurious emission appropriate limits and the associated test procedures are specified. The specific provisions are to be used in conjunction with DIN EN 50121-1 (VDE 0115-121-1). Compared to the previous standard Annex ZZ has been adapted to the new requirements. The Annex is intended to establish the relationship between the essential requirements of the European EMC Directive and the specifications of the present standard. Furthermore, abbreviations that are not required under this standard have been deleted from Subclause 3.2 and the second paragraph under 6.2.1 has been converted into a note. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 767.12 "Funkstörungen durch Hochspannungsfreileitungen und -anlagen und EMV von Bahnen" ("Radio interference by high voltage overhead lines and installations and EMC of railways") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
