This standard applies to coaxial cables for BCT-cabling with operating at a maximum direct current voltage of 72 V and a maximum direct current of 0,5 A at a temperature range between -20 °C and +60 °C 1), and at frequencies between 5 MHz and 3 000 MHz. It specifies the applicable test methods and requirements for the electrical, mechanical, and environmental and fire performance of the cables. The significant amendments compared to the previous version of this standard concern the requirements for damping in Table 2 and the clause in relation to the tests of the fire performance. The responsible body is DKE/UK 412.3 "Koaxialkabel und Leitungen" ("Coaxial cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
