This standard specifies the relevant test methods and requirements for electrical and mechanical characteristics of outdoor drop cables used in cabled distribution networks, environmental performance and fire performance of the cables. In respect to the previous version of this standard, the significant changes refer to the clause regarding the fire performance test methods. The responsible body is DKE/UK 412.3 "Koaxialkabel - und leitungen" ("Coaxial cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
