DIN EN 4644-003:2016-10

The EN 4644 series of standards describes modular rectangular electrical and optical connectors with rectangular inserts, operating temperature 175 °C (or 125 °C) continuous. The connectors described in this standard are suitable for use on board of commercial and military aircraft for panel and rack application under rough environmental conditions. The new edition of Part 003 specifies the characteristics of rectangular inserts capable of being coupled by a locking mechanism or used as a rack application. The standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 4644-003:2012-01 as follows: a) Table 2 has been extended by a column for a non-environmentally protected insert with grommet and b) in Clause 2 the designation has been supplemented by class H for the non-environmentally protected male insert with grommet without interfacial sealing. The standards of the EN 4644 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
