The EN 4604 standard series describes electrical cables for signal transmission for aerospace applications. Part 009 specifies the required characteristics of a light weight coaxial cable, 50 ohms, type KW for use in aircraft electrical systems at operating temperatures between -55 °C and 180 °C and especially for high frequencies up to 6 GHz. Nevertheless, if needed, -65 °C is also acceptable as shown by thermal stability test. This standard of the EN 4604 standard series has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
