DIN EN 4165-002:2015-09

The EN 4165 standard series describes modular rectangular electrical connectors for an operating temperature of 175 °C continuous, for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 002 defines a number of conditions common to rectangular electrical modular connectors for receptacles, plugs and rack and panel, with interchangeable modules and continuous operating temperature 175 °C. Compared to the previous edition DIN EN 4165-002:2008-06, the following changes have been made: a) in Table 1, class C for unplated composite material has been added for connectors, class M for nickel-plated composite material for protective covers and class B for chimneys added for nickel-plated aluminium alloy; the shielded property for the rear accessory class J and the previous class A no longer applies; b) Table 2 has been modified and the new classes added to the combinations in Table 2 to Table 5 and Table 9; c) 7.4 and 7.5 on the electrical continuity through the housing and on the shielding effect have been omitted; d) in Section 9, illustrations for arrangements that were only intended for pin contacts have been omitted; new contact arrangements with Figure 7 to Figure 10 have been added; e) the overview in Annex A has been changed and an additional figure has been added; an overview for individual modules has also been added in Annex B. The standards of the EN 4165 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
