DIN EN 3745-517:2017-06

The standards of the EN 3745 series describe test methods for optical fibres and cables for aircraft use. The standard DIN EN 3745-517 specifies a method of determining the attenuation variation of an optical cable when clamped to a mandrel with cable ties, simulating the condition in an installed harness. The standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 3745-517:2012-08 as follows: a) the normative references have been revised; b) Subclause 3.4 with information to be specified has been added; c) Figure 2 has been added; d) Clause 5 has been revised and partially extended. The standards of the EN 3745 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-10 AA "LWL und LWL-Komponenten" ("LWL and LWL-components") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace.
