DIN EN 3645-003:2015-05

Standard series DIN EN 3645 describes the characteristics of circular electrical connectors, scoop-proof, with triple start threaded coupling, for aerospace applications at operating temperatures up to 175 °C or 200 °C continuous. The new edition of Part 003 specifies the characteristics of square flange mounted receptacles in the family of circular electrical connectors with triple start threaded coupling. It applies to models J, W, Z, F, M and K in Table 3. For contacts, sealing plugs and cable outlet accessories associated with this receptacle see EN 3645-002. For plugs and protective covers, see EN 3645-008, EN 3645-011, EN 3645-012 and EN 3645-006 respectively. These connectors are derived from and are interchangeable with those in standard MIL-DTL-38999/20. The following modifications have been made with respect to the previous edition DIN EN 3645-003:2008-09: a) in Figure 1, the dimensions have been partly modified ; b) in Table 1, a second column has been added for V in order to illustrate various values for models J and M as well as the other models; in column PP an own value has been added for housing size 15 and the value in column R₁ has been changed for housing size 19; c) in Figure 2, the allocation of the hole spacing dimensions has been changed; d) in Clause 5, other letters for the variant specifications of grounding/non-grounding of the contact cavities have been introduced; e) in Table 3, model Z from a zinc-nickel plated aluminium alloy has been added. Standard series EN 3645 has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") at the DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
