The EN 3375 series of standards describes electrical cables for the transmission of digital data in aviation. The standard DIN EN 3375-011 specifies the dimensions, tolerances, required characteristics and the mass of an AWG 24 shielded quad cable, type KL, intended for high speed (100 Mbit/s) full duplex Ethernet networks. Linked to this particular application, the operating temperatures of the cable are between -65 °C and 125 °C. This cable is laser markable, this marking satisfies the requirements of EN 3838. The characteristics impedance must be 100 Ω ± 15 Ω. The standard differs from DIN EN 3375-011:2015-11 as follows: a) for the test in Table 3 according to EN 3475-401, -403, -405, -406 and -502, the mandrel diameter to be applied has been reduced to 45 mm; b) the test according to EN 3475-505 in Table 3 has been extended to the entire braiding; c) for the test in Table 3 according to EN 3475-701, method B and a lower strength have been specified; d) for the maximum attenuation of the cable in Table 4, the temperature has been increased to 25 °C. The standards of the EN 3375 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
