This safety standard (EN 31-1-2:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 49 "Gas cooking appliances", the secretariat of which is held by UNI (Italy). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 040-02-03 AA "Haushalt-Gaskochgeräte, Deutscher Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 49 Gaskochgeräte" ("Domestic gas cooking appliances - German Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 49 Gas cooking appliances") of the Heating and Cooking Equipment Standards Committee (FNH) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. The standard contains the constructional, operational and performance requirements as well as test requirements in relation to general safety. This standard is intended to be used together with EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010 on which the requirements and methods of test for appliances having forced-convection ovens and/or grills are based. In particular, this standard identifies the requirements and methods of test specific to these appliances, which are in addition to, or replace, those given in EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010. This standard is also intended to be used together with any other part of EN 30-1-x related to "Safety", whenever the appliances covered by this other part include a forced convection oven and/or grill. This standard contains safety specifications.
