The standards of the series EN 295 "Vitrified clay pipe systems for drains and sewers" contain requirements for vitrified clay components for buried pipe systems for drains and sewers operated for drainage of domestic waste water, surface water and rainwater generally operated as gravity pipelines. Temporarily increased pressures or permanently low positive pressures are permitted, however. If applicable, various load capacity classes, joint systems, nominal lengths and fittings as well as requirements for materials made of rubber, polyurethane, polypropylene and other components connected with vitrified clay pipes and fittings are specified. The product standards of this standard series have been prepared under a mandate for the implementation of the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EC) and contain the essential requirements, the compliance to which is necessary within the framework of CE marking for placing these products on the European market. Product standard DIN EN 295-7 specifies requirements for vitrified clay pipes with flexible joints for building buried drain and sewer systems using pipe jacking techniques including micro-tunnelling, pipe-eating, pipe bursting and where appropriate lining with discrete pipes. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 119-05-07 AA "Steinzeugrohre und -schächte für Abwasserkanäle und -leitungen (CEN/TC 165/WG 2)" ("Vitrified clay pipes and manholes for drains and sewers (CEN/TC 165/WG 2)") at DIN.
