DIN EN 2714-014:2016-11

The EN 2714 series of standards describes requirements for single-core and multi-core electrical cables for general use in aircraft electrical systems at operating temperatures between -55 °C and 260 °C. The new edition of Part 014 of the series of standards specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable DR family, 4 to 11 cores, taped, screened (braided) and jacketed electrical lightweight cables for use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft, at operating temperatures between - 55 °C and 260 °C. Nevertheless, if needed, - 65 °C is also acceptable as shown by cold test. It shall also be possible to mark these cables by qualified compatible marking. These markings shall satisfy the requirements of EN 3838. The standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 2714-014:2010-11 as follows: (a the standard has been extended to include 4-core and 11-core cables; b) filler cores shall be additionally permitted for 11-core cables, they have been omitted for 7-core cables; c) in Table 1, the 4-core and 11-core cables have been included, the values for other cables have been partially changed; d) in Table 2, changes have been made to the tests according to EN 3475-402, -414 and -503, the test according to EN 3475-807 has been newly included; e) Table 3 with type designations according to the number of cores has been added; f) Table 4 has been supplemented by the 4-core and 11-core cable. The EN 2714 series of standards has been prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Aerospace Standards Committee. AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
