The standards of the EN 2591 series describe test methods for electrical and optical connecting elements used in the aerospace industry. The new edition of Part 315 specifies the method for determining the resistance of a connector or line accessories to liquids. It is to be used in conjunction with EN 2591-100 and EN 3909. Compared to the previous edition DIN EN 2591-315:1998-08, the following changes have been made: a) the reference to EN 3909 has been included in the scope; b) the normative references have been revised; c) Clause 3 deals with the test fluids to be selected according to EN 3909 and their types are listed in Table 1; d) the preparation of test specimens in Clause 4 has been revised and extended; e) the test method in Clause 5 has been revised and extended, Figure 1 showing a typical test setup has been included. The standards of the EN 2591 series have been prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Aerospace Standards Committee (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace.
This document replaces DIN EN 2591-315:1998-08 .
