The series of standards EN 2346 describes requirements for fire proof, electrical cables for use in the on-board electrical systems of aircraft at operating temperatures between -65 °C and 260 °C. Part 005 specifies the requirements for light weight fire proof, unscreened, electrical cables of the DW family. Single core cables are UV Laser printable in accordance with EN 3838; UV laser markability is not mandatory for multicore cables. This cable has not been demonstrated to be arc resistance at alternating voltages above 200 V rms (network 115/200 V rms). The standards of the series EN 2346 have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Department of Electrical Engineering, with the collaboration of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electrical cables") at the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
