The standard DIN EN 2235 specifies materials and construction, required characteristics, test methods, qualification and acceptance conditions of single and multicore cables, screened, jacketed and multicore jacketed cables for use in aircraft electrical systems. It is a new edition. The following changes have been made compared to the previous edition DIN EN 2235:2007-04: a) The statement in 4.2 on the materials to be used has been limited to the reference to the product standards; b) in 4.3.3.5, together with Figure 2, a statement has been included on the coverage of the cable by a glider; c) in Table 1, a column has been inserted for the initial sample test; the specified number of test specimens was largely replaced by general references in the statements on the qualification tests, the applicability has been defined for 6.26 and 6.29; d) Table 2 for mandrel diameter and test force has been moved from 9.2 to Clause 6; e) Table 4 for 5 conductors and more has been added for extension of the qualification in 7.1.4; f) 7.1.5 Initial sample test has been added; g) 7.2.4 Periodic tests have been supplemented by additional statements and requirements. The present standard EN 2235 has been prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Aerospace Standards Committee (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
