This standard constitutes the National Annex to DIN EN 1991-1-2:2003-09 "Eurocode 1: Actions on structures - Part 1-2: General actions - Actions on structures exposed to fire". The European Standard EN 1991-1-2:2002-11 allows national safety parameters to be specified for a number of points. These national determined parameters (NDP) cover alternative procedures, the provision of individual values, and the selection of classes from designated classification systems. The relevant parts of the text are identified in the European Standard by references to the possibility of national choice. Furthermore, this National Annex of EN 1991-1-2 contains non-contradictory complementary information and explanations as NCI, which are permitted according to Guidance Paper L "Application and use of Eurocodes" of the European Commission, and regulations for the application of the informative annexes of DIN EN 1991-1-2. This National Annex is part of DIN EN 1991-1-2:2003-09 and is only valid in conjunction with DIN EN 1991-1-2:2003-09. The standard DIN EN 1991-1-2 on which this standard is based contains general specifications and specifications on the thermal and mechanical actions for proof of fire protection with regards to structures. Amongst other things, a number of national, usually safety parameters are given in DIN EN 1991-1-2 which are specified by this standard. This standard contains further specifications for the informative annexes in DIN EN 1991-1-2 and alternative calculation methods. The national safety parameters specified in this standard have been determined on the basis of theoretical investigations and comparisons with proof of fire protection in accordance with DIN 4102-4 and reviewed with regards to maintenance of the required national security level. This standard DIN EN 1991-1-2/NA has been prepared by the Building and Civil Engineering Standards Committee (NABau), Working Committee NA 005-52-22 AA "Konstruktiver baulicher Brandschutz (Spiegelausschuss zu Teilbereichen von CEN/TC 250)" ("Structural fire protection (Mirror Committee to parts of CEN/TC 250)").
