Overview

This European Standard specifies the safety requirements and test methods for wheeled child conveyances, designed for the carriage of one or more children, up to 15 kg each and additional 20 kg on any integrated platform on which a child can stand. Therefore, it deals in particular with aspects of product safety and is directed at testing facilities and pram manufacturers. This European Standard does not cover toys, shopping trolleys; baby carriers fitted with wheels; wheeled child conveyances propelled by a motor and wheeled child conveyances designed for children with special needs. The European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 252 "Child use and care articles", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible national mirror committee is Working Committee NA 095-05-03 AA "Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder - Sitzen, Pflegen, Schützen, Liegen und Transportieren" ("Child use and care articles - Sitting, caring, protecting, laying and transporting") of NASG.
