The standard specifies a procedure for the evaluation of the degree of surface disfigurement caused by fungi and algae on coatings. The standard is not applicable for evaluating disfigurements caused by blue stain in service on and in wood surfaces. The responsible German committee is NA 002-00-15 AA "Bautenbeschichtungen" ("Coatings for masonry") in collaboration with NA 002-00-07 "Allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen" ("General test methods for coating materials and coatings") at DIN.
