DIN EN 16480:2017-07

This standard formulates the efficiency requirements for rotodynamic pumps for water that fall within the scope of EU Regulation 547/2012, which will apply as of 1 January 2013, and are placed on the market in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the first time. At the same time, this European standard lays the foundations for verification of the manufacturer's specifications by the market authorities of the EU member states. This standard deals with water pumps with stuffing boxes (glandless pumps) for pumping clean water, including pumps that are installed in other products. Pumps designed as low power pumps for pressures up to 16 bar for axial inlet pumps and up to 25 bar for multistage pumps, for temperatures between -10 °C and +120 °C and for clear water and made of all materials. This standard contains the German version of EN 16480:2016 prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 197 "Pumps" in the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-11-01 AA "Kreiselpumpen" ("Centrifugal pumps") of Technical Section "Pumpen" ("Pumps") of the Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of manufacturers and users of pumps, and of the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation.
