DIN EN 16343 specifies a method for the determination of the preservative 3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC) - regulated in Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council from 30 November 2009 regarding cosmetic products, Annex V No. 56 - in cosmetics in the concentration range from 0,005 g/100 g to 0,1 g/100 g. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 392 "Cosmetics", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The collaboration of DIN for the field of responsibility of CEN/TC 392 is performed through the national mirror committee, Working Committee NA 057-07-01 AA "Kosmetische Mittel" ("Cosmetics") of NAL.
