This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I of the EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with such requirements. Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Official Journal of the European Communities, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (the so-called presumption of conformity). This document contains requirements for the types of industrial trucks given in the scope of EN ISO 3691-5. This document shall be used in conjunction with EN ISO 3691-5. These requirements are supplementary to those stated in EN ISO 3691-5 with the addition of the following hazards: - electromagnetic compatibility (EMC); - for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres. This document partially replaces the following requirements of EN ISO 3691-5: - Electrical requirements. This document defines supplementary requirements to EN ISO 3691-5: - protection against crushing, shearing and trapping; - information for use (instruction handbook and marking). This standard contains the German version of EN 16307-5:2013, which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 150 "Industrial Trucks - Safety" at the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The national interests during the preparation are represented by NA 060-22-42 AA "Sicherheit von Flurförderzeugen" ("Safety for industrial trucks") of Technical Section "Fördertechnik" ("Conveying technology") of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of the manufacturers and users of industrial trucks, and of the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation.
This document has been replaced by: DIN EN 16307-5:2024-04 .
