This document specifies the dimensions of the 28 mm screw finish for glass containers designated MCA 1 for returnable glass. A draft of DIN EN 16287 "Glass packaging - Screw finishes for pressure capsules - Glass MCA 1 finish" has already been published in May 2011. Following the CEN enquiry it has been decided to split this draft, that means to prepare one part for returnable glass MCA 1 finish and one part for one way glass MCA 1 finish. The document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 261 "Packaging", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German standardizing body involved is NA 115-02-04 AA "Behältnisse aus Glas" ("Glass packaging") at DIN Standards Committee Packaging (NAVp).
