Overview

This European Standard describes the competence an energy auditor needs in order to effectively meet the requirements for a detailed analysis according to EN 16247-1, in order to carry out a high-quality energy audit. The requirements according to EN 16247-1 can be supplemented by the sector specific Parts 2 (buildings), 3 (processes) and 4 (transport) of EN 16247, where applicable. This standard can be used to specify energy auditor qualification schemes at a national level. The standard also recognizes that all the competence required for an energy audit according to EN 16247-1 (Part 2, Part 3 and/or Part 4), can reside in the energy auditor or a team of energy auditors, where applicable. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 172-00-09 AA "Energieeffizienz und Energiemanagement" ("Energy efficiency and energy management") at the DIN Standards Committee Principles of Environmental Protection (NAGUS).
