This European Standard applies to gloves for goal keepers for association football (in the following text designated as "gloves for goal keepers") with stabilizing and/or stiffening elements (for example, splint or brace), which due to their construction, provide a protective effect against injuries of the hand or parts of it, such as torn capsules, broken fingers, sprained fingers and wrists. It deals in particular with aspects of product safety. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 112-04-03 AA "Körperschutz" ("Body protection") at DIN.
