This document has been prepared by CEN/TC 138 "Non-destructive testing" with intensive German collaboration. Regarding the German collaboration, the responsible committee is NA 062-08-22 AA "Durchstrahlungsprüfung und Strahlenschutz" ("Radiation methods and radiation protection"). This document defines the terms used in the field of tomography. It does not only contain tomography-specific terms but also other more generic terms spanning imaging and radiography. The definitions for some of these terms feature a discussion point to refocus the term in the more specific context of computed tomography.
