This document (EN 15984:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 19 "Gaseous and liquid fuels, lubricants and related products of petroleum, synthetic and biological origin", the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands). The responsible German committee is NA 062-06-14 AA "Chromatographische Analyse" ("Chromatographic analysis") of the Standardization Committee for Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products (FAM) at the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). This document defines a gas chromatography analysis for the determination of the composition of fuel gases, as used as heating gases in refineries. The results are used to calculate the carbon content and lower caloric value. With this gas chromatographic analysis, an overall of 23 gas components can be determined in concentrations as typically found in refineries. Water is not considered. The results represent dry gases. Depending on the equipment used, there is a possibility to determine higher hydrocarbons as well.
This document replaces DIN 51666:2007-01 .
