Overview

This document (DIN EN 15930:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 "Textile and textile products", the secretariat of which is held by the BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German Committee is NA 062-05-21 AA "Physikalisch-technologische Prüfverfahren für Textilien" ("Physical and technological test methods for textiles") of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) at DIN e. V. This test method covers the determination of the elasticity of fibres and allows for classification of the fibre as elastic fibre. It is applicable to single man-made crimped and uncrimped fibres. The measurements are performed on an individual fibre. A fibre is cycled between the gauge length and a specified elongation at a constant rate for an agreed number of cycles. The fibre can be maintained for a specific period of time at the specified elongation or at the gauge length. Its elasticity is determined by measuring certain physical characteristics.
