This European Standard specifies the requirements for the design, material, manufacturing and testing of unfired pressure vessels and pressure vessel parts made from materials constructed from cast iron grades with an elongation after fraction equal or less than 15 %. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 54 "Unfired pressure vessels", the secretariat of which is held by the BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German Committee is NA 012-00-05 AA "Pressure vessels" of the Chemical Apparatus Standards Committee (FNCA).
