In addition to the requirements given in DIN EN 15767-1, the standard contains specifications for devices on portable monitors, designed for aspirating air and projecting low expansion foam and, in some cases, including foam concentrate. It specifies requirements for safety, performance, classification and designation, as well as test methods, instructions for use and maintenance and marking. When using a combination of foam device and portable monitor body, for which there is no manufacturer's recommendation, it is the responsibility of the user to make sure that the combination is safe and stable during operation. The standard contains no requirements for connections (such as threads or flanges). For this reason it is stressed out that agreements for this purpose should be made when the order is placed. With respect to the national standard DIN 14366-2 which has remained unchanged for nearly 25 years, the content of the European Standard has been adopted, that means, the content of the standard has been redistributed, and the terms and definitions, classification, requirements for mechanical and hydraulic characteristics, testing and verification, and information for marking have been revised. The designation has been omitted. Information for use, a datasheet as test report, a graphical symbol for the throw for indication on the datasheet, in informative Annex A information on the effects of the foam concentrate on the performance of the foam devices and in informative Annex B information on acceptance tests based on safety and performance requirements have been added. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 192 "Fire service equipment" (secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom). On the national level the responsible Working Committee is NA 031-04-04 AA "Schläuche und Armaturen - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 1 und WG 8" ("Hoses and armatures - Mirror Commitee of CEN/TC 192/WG 1 and WG 8") of FNFW.
