This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I of EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with these requirements. Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Official Journal of the European Union, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (the so-called presumption of conformity). This European Standard describes the safety requirements for industrial lifting tables for raising and/or lowering goods and the operator(s): * where the lifting table does not pass a fixed landing; * serving not more than 2 fixed landings. This European Standard deals with all significant hazards pertinent to lifting tables when they are used as intended by the operating instructions and under the conditions foreseen (including foreseeable misuse) with the operating instructions. This European Standard describes the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce the risks arising from the significant hazards. Both power operated and manually operated lifting tables are included, whether stationary or mobile. This standard contains the German version of EN 1570-1:2011+A1:2014 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 98 "Lifting platforms" of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). This standard differs from DIN EN 1570-1:2012-05 as follows: a) the text has been reformulated to avoid any misinterpretation on the market; b) in Table 3, "Lift category" has been changed to read "Group" ; c) Table A.1 has been revised. The national interests during the preparation are represented by Working Committee NA 060-22-22 AA "Hubtische" ("Lifting tables") at Technical Section "Fördertechnik" ("Conveying technology") of Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of the manufacturers and users of lifting tables and of the employers' liability insurance associations are involved in the preparation of this standard.
