DIN EN 15618:2012-08

DIN EN 15618 specifies a set of properties relevant to the assessment of upholstery coated fabrics for indoor furniture and the appropriate test methods to determine these properties. It also describes a matrix system to express the material properties of an upholstery fabric. This standard applies to upholstery fabrics both in domestic and public use, except when used for the seats of road or railway vehicles, boats or aeroplanes. This standard applies to upholstery fabrics with a coating on the wear face, but not to textile upholstery fabrics covered by EN 14465. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 "Textile and textile products", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). This standard differs from DIN EN 15618:2009-07 as follows: a) the first sentence of the introductory text in clause 2 "Normative references" has been updated; b) in clause 4 "Requirements", Table 1 "Material properties", the test method and performance level values for the tensile strength have been revised. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 054-04-04 AA "Kunststoff-Folien und kunststoffbeschichtete Flächengebilde (Kunstleder); allgemeine Eigenschaften" ("Plastic films and plastics-coated fabrics (artificial leather); general characteristics") at the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK).
