This European Standard specifies a method for determining the creep deformation of bonded specimens loaded in bending shear. It is applicable to adhesives used in load bearing timber structures. The method is used to test and assess the suitability of PUR adhesives in accordance with EN 15425 and EPI adhesives in accordance with EN 16254 for load-bearing timber structures. Bending specimens of a constant cross-section are subjected to constant load at cyclically varying climate conditions. Specimens bonded with the adhesive to be tested are compared with specimens bonded with a PRF-adhesive. Compared to DIN EN 15416-3:2010-06, EPI adhesives according to EN 16254 have been included in the scope of application. The glue line thicknesses and time spans to be used can now be found in EN 15425 or EN 16254. The determination of the thickness of the glue line in the test specimen has been added. Alternative ways of making the test pieces have been included. However, the possibility of using other climatic conditions has been deleted. The responsible committee for this standard is NA 042-04-05 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Holzklebung" ("Mirror committee for CEN/TC 193/SC 1 Wood adhesives") at DIN.
