This European Standard covers energy performance calculation of water based storage sub-systems used for heating, for domestic hot water or for combination of these. This standard does not cover sizing or inspection of such storage systems. In Germany, the Directive on the energy performance of buildings (2010/31/EU) of the European Parliament and the European Council is primarily implemented by national energy conservation law. National energy conservation law refers to dated national and European standards and national prestandards that have been specified to be implemented in Germany. This document (EN 15316-5:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 228 "Heating systems in buildings" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). Working Committee NA 041-05-01 AA "Energetic assessment of building services installations (SpA ISO/TC 205 "Environmentally friendly building design")" at DIN Standards Committee Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety (NHRS) is responsible for the German version.
